The Stranger Things
Radio Room
For the final season of Stranger Things, DDA delivered an unexpected retail marketing campaign that supported new product launches in collaboration with Walmart.
Thus, the Stranger Things Radio Room was born: a pop-up event that invited fans to step into 1980s Hawkins and browse exclusive merchandise, a claw machine, an 80s photo booth, and an in-world radio booth. Our pop-up build was inspired by an brand new Season 5 location – WSQK 94.5 FM.
Nearly 1,400 attendees showed up across two days, and DDA heavily occupied the promotional airwaves to spread the word:
We took to the streets of NYC with a series of wild postings
We invited over 170 press and NY-based influencers
We held a VIP preview for our paid & unpaid influencers to capture content, which inspired a rush of promotional posts to roll out immediately after they attended.
We even had a camera crew on the ground capturing social content.
